They reside in forests of oak and humid rhododendrons with dense undergrowth and agglomerated bamboo. The red male with horns is about 70 cm in length. When it is mating season, blue horns grow and a blue “gill” comes down to your chest. When you are ready to show, they will inflate their horns and hide behind a rock, waiting for the females to pass. When some passes, they perform an elaborate and attractive show in front of the females. At the end of the show, the male will stretch his full height and show off all his ornaments.
