The male has a blue mask on the face, mantle and undersides of the bright dark blue tail, chest with bright blue feathers with white scaled spots and top of the tail with white feathers. The female has the same male mask, brown upper parts and brown breast with a few scaled white feathers.

Found in lowland forests of the Thai-Malay Peninsula.
